IHSW - Feb 2018

Linking up with Joysze from Random Ramblings and her International Hermit and Stitching Weekend:)

It's been quite some time since I participated in the IHSW and I'm super excited that it is back up and running:) Thank you Joysze for putting the work into this stitch along and the Facebook page as well!!

Like normal - for me anyway, I made headway on one and lost ground on the other. The first project I worked on was O Tannenbaum from With thy Needle and Thread. I started off here...
And ended up here. This finished this section of the design. There are 5 sections that are intended to be cut out and placed in different cubbies of a shadow box. I'm not doing the box, but will quilt the pieces together to make a small wall hanging.
I also worked on the first design in the Farmhouse Christmas series from Little House Needle Works. I started here...
And ended up here. I guess I did make a little progress on the the right side of the barn, but as I was stitching it I realized that I miscounted on the left side and needed to frog most of it. All-in-all, I lost progress on this one.  I intend to quilt these designs together as well.
Not bad for a couple of days though and I'm loving both of these projects so much!!

Off to see how others got along this weekend!!

March 2015 IHSW

IHSW is hosted by Joysze From Random Ramblings. It seems like I've done a lot of 'hermiting' the past couple weeks, but last week I was actually gone more than I would have liked. This week won't be so bad though. For some reason dd has less going on the last week of the month than any other. It'll be good not to be running around so much:)

This weekend I focused on the Noel Stocking from BBD that was the last project sent out to the members of the Ladies Prim Society last year. Here is a picture of what it will look like...
And where I am with it right now..
Before this weekend all I had done was the bird, so I didn't take a 'before' photo. I was worried that this piece would be too pink for my liking as I'm not generally a 'pink person' anyway, but even more so for Christmas as I tend to stick to traditional colors for that. So I made one change to the colors, the darker red/pink I have used was much more on the pinkish side in the kit, I did leave the lighter pink as it helps to contrast, and I am finding that I am liking how it is turning out. The stem looks almost black in this photo, it is actually dark brown irl.

I am super happy with the progress I have been making with my stitching, this project, but also a couple others I have going as well. When I started knitting, and then crocheting again, my stitching really slowed down. Of course there are only so many hours in the day, and unfortunately, even for a 'stay-at-home' momma like me, not nearly enough of those hours can be spent doing my crafts!! But the bug for stitching has outweighed the knitting or crocheting bug here lately, so stitching progress is winning right now:)

Now I'm off to see other's progress!! :) Have a great day!!

IHSW - February 2015

IHSW is hosted by Joysze over at Random Ramblings. For this SAL you make every excuse to stay at home and stitch all weekend on the third weekend of the month. OR you just do as much stitching and staying in as is possible with your schedule:)

I actually didn't get as much stitching done this weekend as I would have liked, but I did get a bit done, and a little is better than none, yes? I worked on my new start for February - Snowflake Serenade from Country Cottage Needleworks. I hadn't had a chance to get much of a start on it before, so most of this was stitched this weekend...
There is a LOT of white in this one, and usually I don't like to stitch white, but I love the softness of this design. It's one I can put up at Christmas and leave up all winter long. Or at least until I get sick and tired of winter, like about a week after Christmas;) I think this one might be much more fun to stitch during the hot months of summer!! Right now it's making me cold:)

Okay, now I'm off to go and see how some of you did on your stitching...

IHSW - Jan 2015

This past weekend was the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend hosted by Joysze of Random Ramblings. It is a time set aside to do as much stitching (and staying home) as possible!! This is *my* kind of challenge:)

While I haven't ever actually been able to stay home a whole weekend for this, I did get a bit stitched this weekend...
Madam Cottontail (from With thy Needle and Thread) is coming along nicely. She is all dressed up and ready to do her gardening. Though it kind of looks like that flower is trying to eat her ear;) I'm pretty happy with the progress I made on this one, it's been a fun project to work on.

Off to see everyone else's progress:)
