Turtle Trot - May 2015

I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing, restful weekend, and that those who are mothers had a very Happy Mother's Day. Above is a basket of flowers I bought for my mom - cat not included;) Hubby got his mom a plant as well as she loves to garden:)

Yesterday was also the posting day for the Turtle Trot SAL. At the beginning of the year we all choose 10 projects that we wanted to make sure to make some progress on during the year. For me it was out of many, many projects:)

This month I was able to work on one of my chosen projects. The before progress...
 And the after...
This is Flower and Bird Sewing Roll from Chessie and Me. I've almost got the first of the two panels done now. I have one thread color issue that is going to hold me up a bit until I figure it out. I changed out the color of fabric (the first photo being more true to color) and because of that the yellow-y thread they used for the tulip flower won't work. I'm not sure what I'm going to use yet, but I will continue on with this once I've figured that out:)  Until then I will move on to the next project and have fun with it for a while!! Happy Stitching!!

Turtle Trot- April 2015

The Turtle Trot Sal is hosted by Claudette at BAP Attack!!

A little late this month as we had a wild and crazy weekend and Friday just passed me by in a blur!! Actually, it wasn't all that wild and crazy:) It was dd's birthday weekend so we brought home a couple extra girls on Friday night after our 4-H meeting (I was cleaning all day Friday!!), and had a 'sleep' over. Then I took the girls into the 'city' to go ice skating for a while on Saturday. One of the girls went home and the other stayed with us, so we went out to dinner and then went to Youth group that night. On Sunday, we went back to the 'city' after church to have a birthday party with the grandparents/family. Dd even got to swim at my parent's house for a while with the younger cousins. Then we did a little grocery shopping and made it back home to make dinner and try to get some rest:) So a fun but busy weekend.

I didn't get much of any kind of stitching or fun yarn projects done this weekend, but I have been working on all my fun handiwork otherwise, so I have quite a bit to show off for this month!!

First off, I have a FINISH!!

This is Summer Pincushion by Black Bird Designs. I changed the colors to CC's Cocoa Bean and ???. I'm still trying to figure out what blue this was. I used up all but a couple inches of both threads, so it was super close to running out, but then I threw away the thread tags, so I will update this once I remember!! :)

Then I make a bit of progress on Sarah Tobias also from Black Bird Designs. Here is where I started from...
 And where I am now...
Pictured above is also my progress on Spring Snapperland from Bent Creek and below is where I started from...
All-in-all, a good amount of progress on some of my oldest WIPs this month!! I'm pretty excited to get more of these all finished up:)

Turtle Trot - Feb 2015

It is a dark and cloudy day today. I think that after some nice spring-like weather we are getting back to winter again. I knew the warm weather wouldn't last, but it was nice while we had it:)

I'm really excited about my progress for Turtle Trot this month. I was hoping to have a finish which didn't quite happen, but it got close and I am happy with that:)

I worked on Summer House Pincushion from BBD. I started out here...

And am here as of today...
I really love this brown -Cocoa Bean from CC- and this blue - Blue Moon from CC- together. I'm just almost done with it and plan to stick with it for next month as well, so there *should* be a finish for my next Turtle Trot update:)

Turtle Trot Jan 2015

http://bap-attack.blogspot.com/2014/12/its-back.html

I'm really excited to participate in this year's Turtle Trot, hosted by Claudette of BAP Attack. I'm hoping that I can make some real progress on some projects that have been neglected for a while, and maybe even finish a few of them. Wouldn't that be a shocker!! :) This month we are to post the 10 projects that we want to focus on this year, so here are mine...

'Common Thread' from Threadwork Primitives. This is one of the charts I received from being a member of The Ladies Prim Society in 2014. It was so much fun to receive surprise projects in the mail that I joined again this year. If you are interested in joining, do so quickly over at Dyeing to Stitch.
'Mary's Sampler II' from Plum Street Sampler.  I don't have a picture of the finished chart for this one as it is a freebie and can still be found over at Paulette's site.
'Spring Snapperland' from Bent Creek. The only one of these I have finished (and framed and hanging on my wall almost all year long) is the Autumn one. These all have a freebie boarder that helps bring the individual charts together.
'Summer Snapperland' from Bent Creek.
'Winter Snapperland' from Bent Creek.
'Flower and Bird Sewing Roll' by Chessie and Me. I almost have the front panel done on this, but haven't started the inside panel.
'Summer, Autumn, Winter Loose Feathers' from Blackbird Designs. This is one of my favorite projects I have going right now. I LOVE stitching on 40 ct!! I will be leaving off the alphabet from the top/bottom of this chart.
'Liberty Tree' from M Designs. I also LOVE stitching over one:)
'Sarah Tobias' from Blackbird Designs (found in Thank You, Sarah Tobias booklet). Also being done over one.
'Summer House Pincushion' from Blackbird Designs. Obviously, I changed the colors on this:) I really love that blue and brown together.

So many pretty and fun projects to work on!! And you can still join in on this SAL as well, but only until tomorrow, so hurry over to BAP Attack and get signed up!!
